Remarkable was established in 1996 and is considered a UK iconic business for inventive and dynamic recycled products.

Smile Plastics was established in 1994 and launched a range of recycled sheets made from old plastic, originally containing waste shampoo, detergent or milk bottles. The recycled material was collected, sorted, flaked and thoroughly washed. Looking like multi-coloured corn-flakes the pieces were made into sheets which retained the colours of the original bottles. The second product range was made from plastic cups (high impact polystyrene) which is harder and more rigid than the sheets from bottles.

The Recycled plastics sheets have been used extensively all over the world including the Idèe showroom, Body Shop and Blanco fashion shops throughout Spain (Fern Green). The Science Museum, Design Museum, V & A and the Tate Gallery have all used it in different capacities.
